As manufacturers and distributors focus on more sustainable flooring solutions and face challenges due to high shipping costs and raw material prices, the demand for Liteback® continues to grow in 2022. Manufacturing giants BBL Flooring and M.J. International will showcase Välinge’s Liteback® core technology as part of their exhibit booths at this year’s TISE 2022 Event (February 1-3 2022, in Las Vegas).
M.J. International (Taiwan) and Dongguan Meijer Plastic Products Co., Ltd recently signed a license agreement for the Liteback technology. M.J International Group will implement Liteback in its brand new and state-of-the-art facility in Taiwan during 2022. “To meet the demand for even more sustainable flooring products, we have been looking into ways to reduce both material and transportation costs and found Liteback is a perfect match for us and our customers.” says Jerry Kuo, Vice President MJ Group USA.
The company will present their high quality flooring products featuring the Liteback technology in their booth at TISE (Booth: 2820 (MJ GROUP US)).
The M.J. Group is joining a growing number of Liteback licensees including among others Welspun in India, Zhejiang Tianzhen Technology (TZ), Jiangsu Bejier (BBL), Jiangsu Success Wood Products (Pridon), Changzhou Sijihao and Changzhou Kingfisher in China. Last week Välinge also signed a European company for the Liteback technology.
Liteback is seen as a revolution for the flooring industry — ushering in the era of sustainable resilient flooring. By ingenious removal of material from the core of resilient floorings, Liteback enables reduction of the weight of the final product with up to 20%. All handling of the product thus becomes easier and more efficient: from reduced raw material use, to delivery out of the production unit, to the time of purchase and during installation by the end user. The production process involves the use of a grooving unit to mill grooves on the backside of the floorboard. The material that is removed in the process is recycled back into the production process, thereby reducing material consumption with up to 20%. Typically, the same savings can be done in transportation with up to 20% less impact in freights and corresponding CO2 savings.
